Biography

Ethan Worden lives and works in Oakland, California, where he is the Studio Technician for Sculpture and Ceramics at Mills College. Utilizing a variety of media, much of Ethan’s recent work is concerned with the limits and function of expectation.  Ethan has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and is currently represented by Swarm Gallery in Oakland.

Christopher M. Lavery lives and works in Farmington, Maine, where he is an Assistant Professor of Art (Sculpture, Sound Art) at the University of Maine, Farmington.  He has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally and continues to work on a large scale public art project entitled “Cloudscape” for the Denver International Airport; to be completed in 2010.  He has also been performing and recording in Maine with his noise based electro-acoustic sound art band, “Noise Furniture”.  Christopher’s installation works incorporate looking at concepts through structural materials, audio, video and performance.

Christopher and Ethan met at the University of Colorado at Boulder and have since migrated to opposite sides of the country.  This collaborative project, anchored on the concept of Place, has permitted Christopher and Ethan, despite the more than 2700 miles between them, to work more closely than they have for nearly a decade.
